The Pekin Police Department Special Services Division is comprised of seven Detectives and two supervisors dedicated to complex investigations and long-term case resolution.

When a patrol officer identifies a case requiring extensive follow-up, advanced investigative techniques, or specialized expertise, a Detective assumes responsibility. From that point forward, the case is pursued with diligence, precision, and a commitment to justice.

Our Detectives investigate a wide range of offenses, including theft, fraud, sexual assault, narcotics offenses, and violent crimes against persons. They work collaboratively with local, state, and federal law enforcement partners to ensure thorough investigations and coordinated enforcement efforts.

In addition to traditional investigative responsibilities, the unit functions as a plainclothes narcotics team. Detectives conduct intelligence-driven operations, develop confidential informants, and build cases that lead to residential search warrants and the successful prosecution of individuals distributing narcotics in our community.

Throughout every investigation, our Detectives work closely with prosecutors to prepare strong, well-documented cases, ensuring criminal accountability and providing resolution for victims.
