Honor Guard
Serving as an essential part to many formal events.
The Pekin Police Department Honor Guard is a ceremonial unit comprised of officers selected to represent the department at formal events and solemn occasions.
The primary mission of the Honor Guard is to pay tribute to fallen officers and honor those who have served. Members perform ceremonial duties at funerals and memorial services for current and former officers, ensuring that each service is conducted with dignity, precision, and respect.
The Honor Guard is trained and prepared to provide ceremonial honors, including casket watch, flag folding, rifle volleys, and procession details. Their presence reflects the department’s deep commitment to tradition, professionalism, and the law enforcement brotherhood.
In addition to memorial services, the Honor Guard represents the department at community and civic events, presenting the colors at formal ceremonies and sporting events throughout the region.
Serving on the Honor Guard is both a privilege and a responsibility — an opportunity for officers to uphold tradition, demonstrate discipline, and honor the service and sacrifice of others.
